On February 16,2025,the United Arab Emirates and France signed an important agreement at the third plenary session of the UAE France Senior Business Council held in Paris,aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of clean energy.UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and French President Emmanuel Macron witnessed the signing of the agreement,reaffirming their strategic partnership in areas such as climate action,energy,and advanced technology.
According to the agreement,Masdar from the United Arab Emirates and Total Energy from France will collaborate to support the energy system transformation of African communities and jointly develop clean energy projects in Southeast Asia.In addition,Total Energy and EPointZero will explore opportunities for cooperation in the fields of solar,wind,and energy storage in India to assist the country’s decarbonization process.Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi,CEO of Masdar,said,”This cooperation demonstrates the commitment of the United Arab Emirates and France to jointly promote the application of clean energy
Since its establishment in 2022,the UAE France Senior Business Council has become an important platform for economic cooperation between the two countries.The signing of this agreement further consolidates the cooperation between the two sides in the field of sustainable energy,especially in the development of clean energy in emerging markets in Africa and Asia.
