The latest World Energy Outlook report released on the official website of the International Energy Agency(IEA)shows that in the current policy context, the number of electric vehicles worldwide is expected to increase tenfold by 2030,and renewable energy is expected to account for nearly half of the global electricity structure.
Although the scale of renewable energy adoption is increasing, the global demand for fossil fuels is still”too high”to ensure the achievement of the temperature control goals set out in the Paris Agreement.Stronger measures need to be taken to address climate change, including a doubling of global renewable energy generation capacity;Double energy utilization efficiency;Reduce methane emissions by 75%;Establish innovative large-scale financing mechanisms to triple clean energy investment in emerging and developing economies;Ensure an orderly reduction in the use of fossil fuels, such as suspending approval of non emission reduction coal-fired power plants.
