Recently,the 43rd Cambridge Energy Week(CERAWEEK)was held in Houston,Texas,USA.The theme of this Energy Week is”The Road Ahead:Energy Strategies for a Complex World”,attracting over 2050 companies and more than 10000 representatives from more than 80 countries and regions around the world.The significant breakthrough in geological theory understanding and exploration and development of Coal Rock Gas(CRG)released by the Chinese Petroleum delegation has attracted attention.
At the”China Energy Future”strategic roundtable meeting,Li Guoxin,Deputy Chief Geologist of China National Petroleum Corporation,explained the”three-step”strategy for China’s petroleum transformation and development,as well as the overall business layout of”oil,gas,thermal power,hydrogen”and”refining and refining”;For the first time,China Petroleum has released significant breakthroughs in the theoretical understanding and exploration and development of coal,rock,and gas geology to the world.
He stated that although coal rock gas is produced in coal bearing strata along with traditional coalbed methane(CBM),there are significant differences in geological characteristics,occurrence mechanisms,and development methods,which may become a strategic replacement resource for global oil and gas in the future.
Li Guoxin introduced that PetroChina has successfully built a daily coal and rock gas production capacity of 8 million cubic meters in the Ordos Basin,equivalent to an annual production capacity of 2 million tons of oil and gas equivalent.Among them,the cumulative production of the E’Dong Daji gas field has exceeded 3 billion cubic meters.This achievement not only demonstrates the strong strength of China Petroleum in coal and rock gas exploration and development,but also injects new vitality into the global energy transition and sustainable development.
According to the introduction,China Petroleum’s coal rock and gas geological theory has broken through the bottleneck of deep coal rock exploration and development.Through the independently proposed coal bearing full oil and gas system and the research and development of 28 technical systems in five categories,the drilling cycle of deep coal rock and gas can be shortened by more than 30%.
