On the 20th,the National Energy Administration released the”Top Ten Iconic Achievements of National Oil and Gas Exploration and Development in 2024″,which showed that in 2024,the domestic oil and gas production equivalent exceeded 400 million tons for the first time, maintaining a rapid growth momentum of 10 million tons for eight consecutive years, further consolidating the development trend of”stabilizing oil and increasing gas”.
In 2024,crude oil production will reach 213 million tons,an increase of 24 million tons compared to 2018;The natural gas production is 246.4 billion cubic meters, with an average annual growth of over 13 billion cubic meters in the past six years. The largest oil and gas field in China, the Changqing Oilfield of PetroChina, has produced over 1 billion tons of oil and gas equivalent.Old oil fields such as Daqing and Shengli continue to maintain stable production and play an important foundational role.
The ocean and unconventional oil and gas have become the”main battlefield”for upstream production. In 2024,China’s offshore oil and gas production will rapidly increase, with the construction of multiple new oil and gas fields and an equivalent output of over 85 million tons; The shale oil production has rapidly increased to 6 million tons, with a year-on-year growth of over 30%;Maintain shale gas production at a scale of over 25 billion cubic meters; The production of deep coal and rock gas has rapidly increased to 2.5 billion cubic meters in just three years, becoming a new highlight of natural gas production.
Data shows that in 2024,the equivalent oil and gas production in the Ordos Basin will be about 97.5 million tons, maintaining its position as the largest oil and gas producing area in the country.Among them, the crude oil production exceeds 38 million tons, the construction and production efforts of shale oil new areas continue to increase, and the Qingcheng shale oil integrated large oil field has built a production capacity of 3 million tons per year. The natural gas production in the basin exceeds 72 billion cubic meters, and the Sulige gas field maintains a high and stable production of 30 billion cubic meters. The Daji gas field has become China’s first coal rock gas field with an oil and gas equivalent of one million tons.
China continues to make efforts in offshore oil and gas exploration and development, promoting the sustained scale increase of offshore oil and gas production. In 2024,China’s offshore crude oil production increased by over 2 million tons for five consecutive years, playing an important role in the sustained stable production of 200 million tons of crude oil in China. It is worth mentioning that in 2024,the daily crude oil production of Bohai Oilfield, the largest offshore oil field in China, exceeded 100000 tons, setting a historical high in the development and construction of oil fields in nearly 60 years. It has maintained its position as the first crude oil production base for four consecutive years, with a cumulative production of over 560 million tons of crude oil.
At the same time, the oil and gas industry actively embraces the concept of green transformation and development, accelerates the integration of oil and gas exploration and development with new energy, continues to promote clean energy substitution for production,large-scale utilization of new energy, and the development of negative carbon industries such as carbon capture, utilization, and storage(CCUS)/carbon capture and storage(CCS),to”add green and new”to the high-quality development of upstream oil and gas.Among them,Jilin Oilfield has injected a total of 3.6 million tons of carbon dioxide, increasing crude oil recovery by more than 20%.
