According to the German government’s plan, by 2030, Germany’s onshore wind power installation will increase from 54.4 GW in 2020 to 95 GW. The industry is generally worried that, as wind power is one of the main supports for Germany to achieve its climate goals, Germany’s climate goals may be defeated according to the current increase rate of onshore wind power installation in Germany.
Recently, Germany’s latest round of onshore wind power project bid opening, the total installed capacity of successful subscription is 1.1 GW, slightly lower than the government’s previous estimate of 1.243 GW. Although this round of bidding is the first onshore wind power bidding in Germany in the past four years, which is more than 1 GW, the onshore wind power bidding is still under subscribed and the investment does not meet the government’s expectation.
